✨ Can we give Prenatal consults a highlight here There is something incredibly powerful about meeting families before baby arrives—when we can slow down, prepare, and take a proactive approach instead of scrambling in the moment. I had the most wonderful prenatal consultation today that I wish all mothers could have! So much of the lactation journey improves when we’re supported before challenges arise. Understanding your body, your history, your goals, and the common roadblocks truly sets you up for success. Being proactive in your health isn’t just helpful—it’s transformational. Advocate for your education. Advocate for your support. Advocate for the breastfeeding/chestfeeding journey you want. ✨Prenatal consults are for everyone, and especially for parents with: • Past breastfeeding challenges • Thyroid or hormonal conditions • History of low supply • Breast surgeries or variations • Preterm birth history • Anxiety around feeding or previous trauma Preparing early doesn’t guarantee a perfect journey— but it absolutely changes the way it feels. Here’s to walking in empowered, supported, and ready

Seems like tongue and lip tie are a popular topic online and one that many mothers are wondering about. ✨Here's the simple answer...Not every tie needs to be treated-the key to investigate is "how is function". A tie should be corrected when it is both restricted and causing functional problems, even after skilled lactation support and feeding adjustments. There's are many degrees of ties and having an experienced IBCLC complete an oral evaluation is important if you have concerns. 👅 Tongue Tie A correction may be needed when your baby has: • Ongoing latch difficulty • Nipple pain or damage for the breastfeeding parent • Poor milk transfer or slow weight gain • Clicking, leaking milk, or loss of suction • Recurrent clogged ducts or supply issues linked to feeding • Functional concerns later on (speech/eating), confirmed by specialists 👄 Lip Tie A release is considered when the tie is: • Restricting baby’s ability to flange/lift the upper lip • Causing a consistently shallow latch • Associated with nipple pain or poor transfer • Contributing to feeding issues after other causes have been ruled out Always start with an IBCLC evaluation to understand what’s truly causing the feeding challenges—and whether a release will help your baby feed more comfortably and effectively.
